Award-winning director Steven Soderbergh’s new movie Side Effects screens on Sunday
26 May at The Zone in Rosebank.
The film of choice for this month’s Ster-Kinekor Movie Buffs event, releases nationally on Friday 31
May 2013. At the pre-screening, Barry Ronge introduces the film and leads an
interactive discussion afterwards.
According to Ronge the movie “focuses on Emily (Rooney Mara) who is apprehensive of
what her life will be like when her husband Martin (Channing Tatum) is released from
prison. She is anxious and she asks her doctor Jonathan Banks (Jude Law) to prescribe a
pill that will calm and soothe her anxieties. He does so, but the consequences are
horrific. A murder takes place, and Emily is arrested and imprisoned for the crime’.
Join Barry Ronge and other “movie buffs’ for the screening of Side Effects at The Zone in
Rosebank on 26 May from 17h00. The screening starts promptly at 17h30.
Standard ticket prices apply and it is advisable to book early, as seating is limited.
