Hosted by Rebel Wilson, the 2013 MTV Movie Awards broadcast live on MTV (DStv
Channel 130) on Monday 15 April at 03h30 CAT.
Superhero blockbuster The Avengers and heartwarming Silver Linings Playbook took
home three golden trophies each, while Brad Pitt made a rare public appearance to
announce The Avengers as Movie of The Year.
Academy Award®-winning actor and Grammy Award®-winning artist Jamie Foxx won a
Golden Popcorn for Best WTF Moment with Samuel L. Jackson, his co-star in Django
Unchained. Foxx was also recognised for his outstanding career with the Generation
Award, presented by Kerry Washington.
The audience was treated to sneak peeks of two highly anticipated films due for
release this year, namely The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Iron Man 3.
On Wednesday 17 April, viewers have another chance to watch the show on
MTV at 19h00 CAT.
