The new South African films, Fanie Fourie’s Lobola (51 prints) and Verraaiers (42 prints) made the number four and five spots in the local Combined Top 10 box office over the weekend of 1 to 3 March. New release Fanie Fourie’s Lobola made R536,894 over the weekend, while Verraaiers’ combined box office after two weeks of release is R1.3m.
Meanwhile, another South African film is also performing well – after five weeks of release, Klein Karoo (28 prints) has made over R4m.
The biggest earner over the weekend was Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (including 3D) (79 prints) which made R1.4m, followed by Wreck-It Ralph (including 3D) (75 prints) at R889,600 and A Good Day to Die Hard (81 prints) at R883,164.
