Grant Marais has been appointed regional vice president of Africa Sales at Intelsat SA. He will be responsible for supporting the growth of Intelsat’s customers in the region, which includes leading telecommunications and wireless operators, network services providers, as well as DTH platform operators and broadcasters.
Intelsat provides customers with critical communications infrastructure, including 23 satellites serving the region, and the Intelsat EpicNG high throughput satellite platform, which is expected to launch in 2015.
“With his many years of experience in Africa, Grant understands what our customers across the continent require to grow and be successful,’ said Kurt Riegelman, Intelsat’s senior vice president of Global Sales. “The African communications landscape continues to be one of the most dynamic in the world, and I am confident that Grant will help Intelsat advance its presence in the region.’
Marais succeeds Jon Osler, who will join Intelsat’s Global Accounts team in Washington, D.C.
