South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) radio station SAfm has bid farewell to Siki Mgabadeli, presenter and anchor of the Morning Talk show that airs on weekdays from 09h00 to 12h00. Mgabadeli’s last day was on Friday, 7 December and while the station is in the process of finalising a replacement, Vuyo Mbuli will be hosting Morning Talk until further communication.

Mgabadeli’s tenure at SAfm has been an eventful journey filled with powerful discussions and debates with ministers, politicians, CEOs, writers, legends in the music industry and many other dignitaries.

She began her career at SAfm as a journalist and producer, worked her way up the hierarchy and, through solid dedication, became a world-renowned radio presenter with numerous awards to her name. With sound knowledge as a financial journalist Mgabadeli has held her own, bringing forth tremendous influence and contributions of information to audiences’ lives and views as well as challenging the status quo. She developed a huge, loyal listenership nationally – who describe her as calm, engaging and knowledgeable with the ability to attract and retain listeners for hours on end.

SAfm station mange Dennis O’Donnell said: The task ahead is to find a replacement who is as vastly experienced in radio and as influential as Siki.’
