After 12 weeks on the international circuit, one million tickets have already been sold for South African animated feature film, Adventures in Zambezia, produced by Triggerfish Animation Studios.
“We are releasing in more than 44 territories worldwide so to hit the one million ticket mark with just six territories is a fantastic achievement for us, and for the South African animation industry as a whole,’ says Triggerfish CEO Stuart Forrest.
It is the studio’s first feature film and features an all-star cast including Abigail Breslin, Jeff Goldblum, Leonard Nemoy, Richard E. Grant, and Samuel L. Jackson.
It has done particularly well in Israel, where it was the number one independent film of the summer, as well as in Russia, where it reached number two at the box-office.
Adventures in Zambezia will open in Nu-Metro cinemas nationwide on 26 December.
