My Broadband reports that South African opposition party, the DA, has reiterated its call for an investigation into Minister of Communications Dina Pule’s involvement in the ICT Indaba (which took place in Cape Town earlier this year) on the grounds of conflict of interest and alleged misspending.
According to a Sunday Times report published on 2 September, millions of rands out of the R25.7m which the sponsors gave for the event are allegedly missing.
The newspaper also reported that Phosane Mngqibisa, who is said to be Pule’s romantic partner, was hired by the ICT Indaba Event organiser, Carol Bouwer Productions, to help stage the Indaba.
