Over R1m has been spent to ensure that the 5FM Music Festival, which takes place in Jeffrey’s Bay from 13 to 15 July, presents an incredible line-up including South African favourites Prime Circle, Ard Matthews, Taxi Violence, PH Phat, Jack Parrow, Flash Republic, 3rd World Spectator, Crash Car Burn and many more.
UK outfit Hard Fi, who headlined at the Glastonbury Festival last year and recently played to a capacity crowd at Wembley stadium in London, as well as legendary UK based guitarist Neil Taylor who played with Tears for Fears in the 1980s and more recently with Robbie Williams, will give the festival an international flavour.
The festival will also consist of live dance arenas and the world’s number one dance label, Ministry of Sound, will be taking control of the dance floor on Saturday night, bringing some of the hottest tracks on the planet to “Jbay’.
Sound, stage, lighting, and production will be handled by Gearhouse SA.
5FM has teamed up with Billabong and Nissan so spectators can take in the Billabong Pro Jbay 2012, catching all the action as 144 local and international surfers battle it out on one of the most coveted waves in the world at legendary surf spot, Supertubes.
Festival goers will have the option to camp on site for the full three days and food and beverages will be available. The free camp site will be equipped with all the necessary amenities.
