The 36th International Animation Film Festival got underway in Annecy, France on 4 June with the organisers reporting that there is already an 8% increase in accreditations for the festival and the International Animation Film Market (Mifa) which runs alongside it. Over 80 countries are represented at the events.
This year’s festival programme comprises an official selection counting 229 films: 10 feature films, 49 shorts, 54 graduation films, 60 TV and commissioned films, including 21 series, two specials and 37 commissions in competition, and 15 features (including five screening events) and 41 short films out of competition.
Delegates can go behind the scenes of film production by meeting with directors (Features at Noon), attending Making of and Work in Progress sessions, meeting with Masters, attending press conferences of sneak preview features, signing sessions, conferences, recruitment sessions, etc.
