PAMRO final call for papers

The organisers of the PAMRO (Pan African Media Research Organisation) 2012 Conference, which takes place from 26 to 29 August at the Speke Resort & Convention Centre, Lake Victoria, Uganda, have issued a final call for papers for this 14th edition. All those interested in presenting papers that tie in with the conference theme – “From Local to Global: Media Research in a Developing World’ – are urged to forward their proposals to PAMRO as soon as possible.

The closing date for submission of papers is 30 May 2012.

Speakers from Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and the UK have already been secured and confirmation from other leading experts from across the continent is being awaited.

Provisional Programme:

• Sunday, 26 August – Registration late afternoon followed by welcome drinks
• Monday, 27 August – Full day conference followed by dinner
• Tuesday, 28 August – Half day conference and outing on the lake
• Wednesday, 29 August – Half day conference ending with lunch

Updates on media audience research activities from countries from all parts of Africa will be given.

Presentations will address a wide range of subjects such as television audience research methodologies, as well as the measurement and status of radio, print, Internet and outdoor in Africa.
