Young entrepreneurs will be in the spotlight again on a new season of Making Moves, an award winning show that combines drama with reality and magazine, and returns to SABC1 screens on 14 March at 1:30pm.
The show profiles nine budding entrepreneurs who run companies which have been in existence between two to five years and are making a turnover of above R500,000, but have some teething problems. All entrants are aged between 18 to 35 years.
Profiled businesses are paired with a mentor (business guru) who gives the entrepreneurs advice on how to improve the running of their companies. All businesses are given a space of three weeks to act on the challenges they are given to help them grow.
All profiled businesses on the show are in direct competition with each other, the top three companies that show the most improvement advance to the next stage where they compete against each other for the last time, for an opportunity to win R500,000 in cash and other prizes.
Making Moves is a partnership with The National Youth Development Fund. The show, presented by Siya Mdlalose runs until 6 June 2012.
Bonngoe Productions produce Making Moves for SABC Education. Pontsho Makhetha, acting general manager at SABC Education says: “the show is geared around inspiring youth that are unemployed and have no opportunity to further their tertiary studies. Making Moves shows them that with the right information, right attitude and the will to make it in life you can start a SMME and take care of yourself and loved ones.’
