Not much change at SABC

Sapa reports that hardly any of the Auditor General’s (AG) recommendations on improving corporate governance at the beleaguered South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) have been implemented because most of the executives who were tasked with the responsibilities had left.

This was made evident in a report to parliament presented by Sully Motsweni, head of compliance and monitoring at the SABC and chair of the AG task team.

The AG report was compiled in the second half of 2009 and detailed widespread mismanagement coupled with fruitless and wasteful spending.
