The closing date for the nationwide DStv Film Talent Celebration short film competition is 29 February. Films have to be between three and 10 minutes in length and can be in any genre as long as the entry is a high impact offering.
This competition focuses on the ability of South African filmmakers to tell wonderful authentic stories through very short films.

Winners will receive cash prizes which they can add to their funds to tell more beautiful South African stories. The Best Overall Production will win R50k, while Best Director, Best Editor, Best Cinematographer and Best Sound will each win R40k. The Best Newcomer will win R20K.

The only accepted format is DVD and all submissions must include a completed entry form. There is no entry fee.

For entry forms, rules and regulations and further information, go to http://www.multichoice.co.za/multichoice/view/multichoice/en/page44190. Alternatively email film@multichoice.co.za or phone Hloni Nkhabe on +27+112893068.
Contact by email is preferred.

The competition will culminate in a special event during which the winners will be announced and the top short films screened. DStv will also take this opportunity to recognise the up-and-coming filmmakers from DStv’s Film Skills Development programme.
