At the crossroads of the International Animation Film Festival and its Market, the Mifa, in Annecy, France, the Creative Focus is a platform devoted to new talents in animation.
The Creative Focus offers many events within the main event, including a Call for Projects for four categories – feature films; short films; TV series and specials; and cross-media.
Projects are selected by a committee of experts and then presented to a target public of professionals (producers, broadcasters buyers etc.) during the Creative Focus that
takes place from 4 to 8 June 2012
Partners will also award different prizes: financial prizes, pre-purchasing, creative residence stays, etc.
Project developers can download the interactive entry form from www.annecy.org and send their projects to CITIA, the Festival organising structure, up to 15 February 2012.
In 2011, 182 projects were received from all over the world (France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Bulgaria, South Korea, China, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada,
Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Tunisia…). These included 77 short films; 33 feature films; 52 series and four specials for TV; and 16 cross-media projects. Twenty-eight projects were selected and 10 of the prizewinning projects are currently in production.
Many previous projects were able to start their production thanks to the prizes and visibility from the Call for Projects (check out the “Project update” page at
www.annecy.org).
