Bookings are now open to the public to join film critic Barry Ronge for an exclusive pre-release screening of the Woody Allen film Midnight in Paris on Sunday 18 December at Cinema Nouveau in The Mall of Rosebank.
Barry Ronge is one of the most well-known film critics in South Africa, and as such has become a household name, writing regular film reviews in The Sunday Times, and hosting his own show on Talk Radio 702 every Sunday at 7pm.
This December Ronge will be hosting the special preview of romantic comedy, Midnight In Paris, which is directed by Woody Allen, who also stars in the film, and sees a number of celebrity appearances including, Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams and Kathy Bates.
Gil (Owen Wilson) and Inez (Rachel McAdams) travel to Paris as a tag-along vacation on her parents’ business trip. Gil is a successful Hollywood writer but is struggling on his first novel. He falls in love with the city and thinks they should move there after they get married, but Inez does not share his romantic notions of the city or the idea that the 1920s was the “golden age’. When Inez goes off dancing with her friends, Gil takes a walk at midnight and discovers what could be the ultimate source of inspiration for writing. Gil’s daily walks at midnight in Paris could take him closer to the heart of the city but further from the woman he’s about to marry.
The film will release in South African cinemas on 30 December.
This event is now open for bookings at Cinema Nouveau in Rosebank, and will start at 5pm with the screening at 5:45pm. Guests will be treated to a light snack before the screening and there will be great giveaways on the evening.
