The second chapter of the Daring Doccies Documentary Film Festival by Flamedrop and Cinemaniacs has assembled a wide range of thought-provoking, controversial and award-winning international documentaries, many making their South African theatrical premieres. The festival takes place from 25 November to 1 December at the Labia Theatre in Cape Town and will feature subjects including government conspiracy, local farm murders, drugs and science, the holy bloodline, trepanation, 2012, flawed education, the Egyptian uprising and outlaws.
The schedule includes War of the Flea, a local documentary looking at farm murders in South Africa. Producers will attend its opening screening which will include an audience Q&A.
There will also be a literary addition featuring three topical books and audience give-aways.
Daring Doccies will be followed by the next instalment of the Sound on Screen Music Film Festival from 2 to 10 December.
