TechCentral reports that Gelfand Kausiyo, who headed SABC Radio Broadcast Facilities (RBF) for many years, is to take over as the SABC’s chief technology officer from Richard Waghorn who has resigned.
Waghorn hails from the UK and joined the SABC in March 2009 to help oversee the SABC’s broadcast of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and to head the broadaster’s digital terrestrial television (DTT) project. He previously project managed the launch of Freeview, the UK’s DTT platform.
