After not having commissioned any significant programming from the independent production sector since 2008, the South African Broadcasting Corporation on 8 November this year released its 8th Request for Proposals Book.
The SABC has issued the following statement:
The SABC is proud to launch its 8th Request for Proposals Book, for the first time through the newly created Television Division.
The SABC is the largest consumer of local content in South African and will continue to be. Our current content needs includes 12 briefs for Drama, 5 briefs for Entertainment, 3 briefs for Children, 10 briefs for Factual, 5 briefs for Religion and 7 Education briefs.
We look forward to receiving exciting ground breaking proposals as we head into digital terrestrial broadcasting.
