The world premieres of two South African documentary films will take place at the Out in Africa (OIA) Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, which runs from 21 to 30 October in Johannesburg (Nu Metro, Hyde Park) and Cape Town (Nu Metro, V&A Waterfront).
Breaking Out of the Box and Whisper are the two South African films.
On the international front OIA hosts Dee Rees and her award-winning Sundance-opening feature, Pariah. Rees will hold seminars in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
MP Lindiwe Mazibuko will open the Cape Town festival.
