South African Charlie Vundla’s noir film How to Steal 2 Million (30 prints) made the number 10 stop in the Combined Top 10 at the local cinemas for the weekend of 9 to 11 September. It made R246,285 over the weekend and has amassed a handy R800,709 since its release on 2 September.
The new Afrikaans film, Saak van Geloof (33 prints), made an impressive R107,431 over this its opening weekend.
Three other South African films on the circuit – Retribution (3 prints), The Bang Bang Club (2 prints) and Jock of the Bushveld 3D (47 prints). They have made R90,388, R1.2m and R10.8m respectively.
