South African comedian Loyiso Gola, the anchor of e.tv’s popular comedy show Late Nite News (LNN) and his squad of comedians return with a fresh hilarious season of LNN this month. Season 3 of LNN premieres on Wednesday, 7 September on e.tv at 9:35pm. Viewers can expect to see the same mix of comical and subversive sketch, improvised, interactive and pre-packaged comedy that has proved so popular.

The show picks up where it left off, scrutinising the news and exposing any holes in current affairs stories, making it an absolute side-splitter for viewers. Viewers can expect a high dose of comedic entertainment as the usual characters return and a few new ones are introduced.

Gola will lead the team as main news anchor with David Kibuuka providing the international news reports, while resident doctor Riaad Moosa and Chester (a puppet character) give hilarious political analyses. The new season of LNN will feature guest stars in the form of some of the country’s accomplished comedians while also introducing some of up and coming talent to television.

E.tv executive producer Debbie Meyer is delighted that the show is back on the screens. “LNN has become essential viewing and has established itself as the only comedy show on television that is brave, edgy, relevant and simply hilarious,’ says Meyer. “Viewers were devastated when Season 2 ended and have been demanding that the show be brought back quickly.’ (Report by Simba Nyamukachi)
