Four South African films have been selected for the 36th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival. They are Oliver Hermanus’ Cannes-buzz garnering Skoonheid, Darrell James Roodt’s Winnie Mandela biopic, Winnie, Akin Omotoso’s Man on Ground and Avie Luthra’s Lucky.

Meanwhile, according to The Hollywood Reporter, high profile international stars including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Rachel Weisz, Viggo Mortensen, Salma Hayek, Keira Knightley, Clive Owen, Gerard Butler and Ewan McGregor will be promoting their new films at the festival.

Veteran directors Cameron Crowe, Francis Ford Coppola, Gus Van Sant and Jonathan Demme among others are also set to attend.

The festival takes place from 8 to 18 September.
