Alan Irvin from commercials production company, Picture Tree assisted DRAFTFCB and Vodacom in their recent teaser campaign, which showcases a series of 10-second commercials for the service provider’s latest change – their colour.
The eight commercials reintroduce various recognised Vodacom characters, namely Elton and Jan, Boncoli and De Pina, Brother Ubuntu and Mo, all of whom make sure that the change occurs in a light-hearted and comical manner.
“Alan’s treatment was all about keeping the action in camera- no post tricks! Also more importantly ensuring that the humour was specific to each of the characters being used,’ comments Gary King, Executive Producer of Picture Tree.
The ad agency behind the campaign is DRAFTFCB and their creative team: Brett Morris (Chief Creative Director), Gareth Paul (Creative Director), Grant Sithole (Associate Creative Director), Olivia Russel (Group Head Art Director), Larry Katz (Group Head Copywriter), Michele Philipson (Business Unit Director, Vodacom) and Rachel Andreotti (Producer).
