DRC filmmaker Djo Munga’s Viva Riva! won six awards, including Best Director and Best Film, at the recent African Movie Academy Awards (AMAAs) held in Nigeria.
Viva Riva! also won Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Production Design and Best Cinematography (it was shot using a Canon 5D).
The film is a co-production between DRC, France, Belgium and South Africa. Steven Markovitz is the South African co-producer.
