Nothing like a bit of controversy to attract viewers – the first episode of The Kennedys, which was dumped before airing from The History Channel (reportedly at the request of the Kennedy family), raked in a record 1.9 million viewers on the ReelzChannel on 2 April.
The series stars Greg Kinnear as Jack Kennedy and Katie Holmes as wife Jackie, with Tom Wilkinson playing Joe Kennedy Sr.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series has been badly received by the critics.
