The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) has received a tremendous response for its upcoming eGov Africa 2011 Forum, scheduled to take place in Yaounde, Cameroon, from 26-28 April 2011.
Themed “Governance, service delivery and democracy through the use of ICTs“, the conference will be a one-stop business, strategy and knowledge development platform for many ICT stakeholders.
The concept of e-Governance is fast becoming crucial in the delivery of public services in many countries, and many more nations are signing up to it every day. For the majority of African countries the concept is highly desirable, yet the challenges of implementing it successfully are enormous. However in an information society where e-Gov plays a crucial role in providing better public services to citizens and businesses alike, it is inevitable for African governments and the private sector to work together to ensure a firm grip on issues relating to all e-applications.
