While product placement has already been rife on South African television shows for many years (probably necessitated by local broadcasters’ traditionally low production budgets), UK television viewers got their first taste of branded goods in British television shows this week.
According to research from YouGov, 36% of respondents in the UK don’t know what product placement is and 23% think it’s a bad thing.
The general consensus of respondents is that seeing a brand in a TV show or film is not likely to change their perception of the brand. (Additional source: Advanced Television)
