Hollywood is taking the increase in production permits issued in Los Angeles County in 2010 for films, TV and commercials production as a sign that the recession is over in Southern California. There were 16% more permits issued in 2010 than in 2009, which saw a 23% drop in permits.
These figures are recorded in a report compiled by the LA County Economic Development Corporation.
Meanwhile, FilmLA reports that the number of film production days has risen by 15% in 2010 to 43,646 days, compared to 37,979 in 2009.
