The disciplinary hearing of suspended SABC CEO Solly Mokoetle was postponed on Monday 6 December. His hearing was due to resume on Monday after it was delayed in November.

The SABC board called for the suspension of Mokoetle at the end of August. Reasons for the suspension related to his support of the controversial decision by the chair of the SABC board to appoint the head of news without consultation with members of the board. It was further alleged that Mokoetle operated unilaterally on a number of occasions without accounting to board members. He was also accused of failing to deliver on detailed performance targets as related to a turnaround strategy as laid out in his contract with the SABC board.

The most recent delay in the disciplinary hearing is attributed to the unavailability of a witness. The hearings will now only resume in January 2011.
