Hundreds of zombies flooded the streets of major cities around the world in peak hours on 26 October, as part of a stunt by Fox International Channels (FIC) to launch the TV series, The Walking Dead.
The series will premiere globally a few hours after it premieres on Halloween Day in the US. In South Africa it can be seen on TopTV’s Channel 110. The series will debut in 120 countries.
In The Walking Dead, police officer Rick Grimes leads a group of survivors in a world overrun by zombies.
Worldwide promotional events took place in Taipei ,Hong Kong, Istanbul, Madrid, Munich, London, Sao Paolo, Buenos Aires, New York City and Los Angeles, among others. The multi-city event saw global outbreaks of zombie invasions in and around the world’s major landmarks, including the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, the Lincoln Monument in Washington D.C., Big Ben in London, the Prado Museum in Madrid, the Acropolis in Athens, South Africa and more.
