On 31 July microblogging website Twitter received its 20th million tweet, sent in by a graphic designer in Tokyo.
The Guardian reports that it is only two months since Twitter’s 15-billionth tweet. Approximately 300,000 users are signing up for new accounts every day all over the world.
Twitter was launched in July 2006.
