South African funnyman Leon Schuster is not only the country’s kind of comedy but king of the local box office as well. His latest film, Schuks Tshabalala’s Survival Guide to South Africa ,made the number one spot of the Combined Top 10 for the weekend of 11 to 13 June. It has made R14.1m after three weeks of release.
Second biggest performer over the same weekend was new release Marmaduke (R1m), followed by Prince of Persia (R8,459,834), Killers (R2.5m) and new release, Letters to Juliet (R648,828).
Meanwhile, another South African comedy, I Now Pronounce You Black and White, made the number five spot on the Nu Metro Top 8 for the week 4 to 10 June. Its combined box office is just over R1m. (Figures supplied by SAFACT)
