On Thursday, 10 June at 8pm, viewers of SABC1 (Mzansi Fo Sho) will be able to see the live broadcast of the inaugural FIFA World Cup Kick-off Celebration Concert, which takes place at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg.
SABC1 will cross live at 8pm to bring the three-hour music celebration to millions of viewers across the African continent and hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide.
Proceeds from the concert’s gate-takings will be donated to “20 Centers for 2010′, the Official Campaign of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, which aims to build 20 centers across Africa offering education and healthcare services, as well as football training to disadvantaged communities.
The pre-20:00 concert line-up includes the channel sponsored music group, SABC1 All Stars, who will be performing a World-Cup-inspired song titled Mzansi Rise Up.
