The new South African comedy, I Now Pronounce You Black and White, hit the number one spot on Nu Metro’s Top 8 for the week of 21 to 27 May. It was also number six on the Combined Top 10 for that week. After two weeks of release it had made R794,551.
Meanwhile, the Afrikaans-language film Jackhalsdans had topped R3m after five weeks as at 27 May.
New release The Prince of Persia, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, was the biggest earner of the week, topping R3m. It was followed by Robin Hood and Iron Man 2.
