South Africa’s premier brand communication awards, the Loeries, has appointed Greg Quinton, creative partner of The Partners, London and Chair of Education at the D&AD, as Jury Chairman of the Communication Design judging panel.
Judging will take place from 17 to 25 August and Quinton will be sharing some of his own inspiration and insight at the Judges Seminar on 20 August.
Quinton’s The Partners is the most consistently awarded agency in the United Kingdom. The agency was named the most creative company in Britain in Design Week’s 2009 survey and has topped the “All Awards’ chart for 11 years in its 20 year history. The Partners have also opened a branch in New York, whose creative reputation is fast becoming just as renowned.
“Greg Quinton’s creative wisdom, years of design and judging experience on numerous global juries, and Black D&AD Pencil says it all. We are very privileged to have someone of Greg’s calibre on board,’ comments Gaby de Abreu, founding member of both Switch Design Group and the Brand Design Council.
Quinton adds: “The winning Loeries work should be about thinking differently and challenging the convention of the category. Something that makes you think, “I wish I’d done that’.’
Entries for the Loeries close on 31 May. Work from the Middle East and the whole of Africa is eligible. Full entry information can be found on the Loeries website (www.theloerieawards.co.za).
The Loeries Festival Weekend takes place from 1 to 3 October in Cape Town.
