Legendary American Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese is to follow in the footsteps of James Cameron (Avatar) and Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland) and venture into 3D filmmaking. According to Variety, Scorsese is attached to The Invention of Hugo Cabret, which is based on the children’s book of the same name by Brian Selznick. The film will be distributed by Sony Pictures.
Scorsese has reportedly opted to use 3D cameras for the shoot, instead of going the conversion route in post-production.
The Invention of Hugo Cabret is the story of a young orphan boy who attempts to solve the mystery of a broken robot in Paris in the 1930s.
