The Television Identity and Content Promos category in last year’s Loerie Awards will now be divided up into two separate categories – TV Channel Branding & Identity (which uses originally produced or shot materials) and TV Content & Station Promos (which uses existing content from the shows being promoted.)
The Loerie Awards are the premiere brand communication awards in South Africa, Africa and the Middle East. Entries for this year’s competition close on 31 May.
Says Adi Leech, MD of Studio Zoo, who heads up the specialist judging panel for the category: “We feel that this change will encourage more entries, as there is a better chance of winning in each category. And, it is a fairer judging process, comparing like with like, unlike last year where we felt we were comparing apples with pomegranates. The entries were very different in terms of what their jobs were and how they were produced.’
