Producers Scott Mednick (300, Superman Returns, Where the Wild Things Are, Beerfest) and Galen Walker (TMNT) announced this week that they have acquired the feature film rights to My New Haircut.

My New Haircut is the internet sensation that started the fascination with the lifestyle down at the  Jersey shore. The title character of Broski has exposed the ‘Guido’ lifestyle to a massive domestic and international audience. The original My New Haircut video has received more than 30 million on line views and currently has over 130 fan pages and more than 250 fan inspired parodies.

"We truly believe that in this day and age the convergence of viral concepts blended with the ability to tell stories on the big screen is a key part of creating new franchises" said Mednick.

Walker added "We expect this ‘R’ Rated comedy will build not only on the worldwide following that My New Haircut already has but will be catapulted by the fascination with the Jersey lifestyle."

‘Broski’ was created by Brett Teitjen who also starred as the character in the on line videos. Mednick and Walker acquired the rights as well as an original script penned by Tietjen along with Ryan McMullen.

The project is being developed by MTS Film. Maria Norman (Public Enemies) will produce alongside Mednick and Walker. The film is being executive produced by Ankur Jain, Pernille Trojgaard, Gavin Owens and Mark Fierer. Ryan McMullen is an Associate Producer.
