The central role of content and innovation in the context of a competitive and fast-moving market place will be the topic of a keynote address by Sky CEO Jeremy Darroch at the MIPTV international content market on 14 April in Cannes, France.
Darroch will also discuss his plans for the future growth of British home entertainment and communications company, Sky. His is credited with being at the forefront of Sky’s transformation from pay-TV company into a highly diversified business operating in the £20 billion UK and Irish marketplace.
“The combination of Jeremy’s experience and the pivotal role of Sky in the evolving entertainment industry will certainly make for an absorbing keynote address,’ says Laurine Garaude, director of Reed MIDEM’s Television Division.
Darroch became CE of Sky in 2007, having joined the company as CFO in 2004. He was previously Group Finance Director at DSG (Dixons Group). Prior to that Darroch spent 12 years at Procter & Gamble in a variety of roles in the UK and Europe. He is a non-executive director of Marks & Spencer, where he also chairs the Audit Committee.
