American television network NBC will only stream the 2010 Winter Olympics’ hockey and curling events live on the Web this year. This equates to about 400 hours of Web video, vastly short of the 2,200 hours of live video it streamed during the Summer Olympics in 2008.
For other sports the network will stream only short highlight clips. Additionally, NBC will take steps to blot out Web piracy and block content where possible.
