Speculation is rife that the BBC may cut jobs in its Marketing, Communications & Audiences (MC&A) department, following a review of marketing operations across the corporation’s TV, radio and digital services.
The Guardian reports that the review, headed by MC&A director Sharon Baylay, will take approximately 20 weeks.
Some 496 staff members are currently employed in the MC&A department. The BBC has made no announcement as yet about the possibility of job cuts.
