After a clean sweep of the Oscars, the Golden Globes and every other major award on the calendar earlier in 2009, Slumdog Millionaire has notched up another award. On 12 December it won the Audience Award at the European Film Awards in Bochum, Germany.
Additionally, Slumdog Millionaire DOP Anthony Dod Mantle won the European Cinematographer award for that film and also for his work on Antichrist.
Another multiple award winner through the year, Kate Winslet, picked up the European Actress award for The Reader.
