The UK public can expect government to clampdown on unlawful online file-sharing and to push for digital radio when the Digital Economy Bill is published on 20 November.

According to The Guardian, the bill will also simplify the UK’s copyright laws so that people will be able to use images on the Internet more easily. There will also be laws to protect children’s access to violent video games.

The bill is a result of the Digital Britain project introduced by the Communications Ministry in October 2008. The Ministry’s plan is that 90% of UK households will have access to the next generation of broadband networks by 2017.
