Visiware, the leading worldwide publisher of games for pay television has won the “Special Award for Best Game Service in Interactive Television” for Playin’TV, its all-audiences game channel. Awarded at the AFDESI International iTV Awards ceremony in Cannes, France held during MIPCOM, this is the 4th time Visiware has been recognised for its role in the interactive television industry.
The new Playin’TV portal offers clear technological and end-user advantages: more games, easier browsing and a simplified interface, graphic animation, reduced bandwidth, optimised loading times, and so on. New features will be added as future developments are made, including: direct access to leaderboards from the TV screen, scores sent via the set-top box, voting mechanism (favorite games), grades and comments on games, and more payment methods for set-top boxes (Pay-Per-Play, Pay-Per-Day, Pay-Per-Session, etc.).
This new generation of portals has already been released in New Zealand on Sky TV, in the USA on DISH Network, and in France on Numericable. It will soon be released in Canada on Bell TV and in India on Dish TV.
