Variety reports that South African filmmaker/actor Sharlto Copley, who played the lead role in District 9, is in talks to star in the Ridley Scott-produced big screen remake of the hit TV series, The A-Team.
Prior to District 9, Copley acted in his own short film, Alive in Joburg, and is one of the writers and producers on the feature film, Spoon.
The A-Team is slated to be directed by Joe Carnahan and actors Jessica Biel (I Now Pronounced You Chuck & Larry), Liam Neeson (Schindler’s List) and Bradley Cooper (The Hangover) are attached. Copley is reportedly up for the role of helicopter pilot Captain “Howling Mad’ Murdoch (played by Dwight Schultz in the series).
