CityVarsity in Newtown, Johannesburg will host the Loeries Travelling Exhibition from 11 to 15 August. Visitors will be able to see all the winning work from last year’s Loerie Awards, which recognise all areas of brand communication in South Africa, Africa and the Middle East.
"As a first time host to the exhibition, CityVarsity Johannesburg is very excited about the opportunity to be a part of the Loeries annual roadshow," says Paula Masterson, Marketing Manager at CityVarsity. "It allows our students to engage with some of the best work our industry has to offer, and helps them to get a sense of what is expected of them once they graduate."
The SABC, as sole sponsor of the Travelling Exhibition, also acknowledges the importance of inspiring up-and-coming creatives. "The Loeries is an excellent way to educate and motivate budding creative talent. As the country’s biggest communicator, it is vital that the SABC plays a meaningful role in the development and celebration of South Africa creativity. The SABC’s sponsorship of The Loerie Awards is an important element of this,” notes SABC spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago.
The next stop for the Loeries Travelling Exhibition will be the Tshwane University of Technology in late August. The exhibition will also be visiting New York towards the end of the year when it flies off to the One Club in November.
Meanwhile, the industry is gearing up for this year’s Loerie Awards, which take place in Cape Town from 24 to 27 September. Finalists were announced recently and can be seen on www.theloerieawards.co.za.
