South Korea leads broadband household penetration

According to a report published by analyst firm Strategy Analytics, five of the top 10 market for broadband were Asian countries.
In top spot is South Korea with 95% of households accessing the Internet.

Singapore follows at number two with 88%, then the Netherlands and Denmark at 85% and 82%, respectively. Both Taiwan and Hong Kong had broadband penetration at 81 percent. Israel, Switzerland, Canada and Norwayare all in the top 10. The report ranks the US 20th in global broadband household penetration.

The report predicts that the subscriber base in the Asia-Pacific region will grow on average by a further 15% a year between 2009 and 2013. However, for the US, Strategy Analytics estimates a fall to 23rd place worldwide.
