Loeries’ deadline extended

The deadline for entries into this year’s Loerie Awards, South Africa’s most prestigious brand communication awards, has been extend to 31 May. However, a 10% late fee will apply for all entries received after the original deadline of 15 May.

Entries from the whole of Africa and the Middle East are eligible. The Loerie Awards event takes place in Cape Town from 24 to 27 September and the competition recognises only the best in creative excellence across every area of brand communication including television, radio and print advertising, communication design, architecture and interior design, direct marketing, promotions, public relations (PR), non-broadcast video, live events and digital media. 

Several new awards have been introduced this year:

  • The New Voice Radio Award: Launched by the Loeries in conjunction with the SABC to promote the production of non-English radio advertising.
  • The Creative Use of Paper Award: In partnership with Sappi, all paper-based entries are automatically eligible for this prize.
  • Mobile Advertising Award: In partnership with Vodacom Mobile Advertising this new award recognises the recent growth in the use of mobile devices in the advertising mix.
  • Internet Advertising Award: Compliments of a Secret Sponsor, this award promotes creativity using Internet advertising including pop-up windows, banner adverts and interstitial pages.
