Contract talks threatened by SAG strife

More than seven months after the Screen Actors Guild of America (SAG) feature-primetime contract expired, the Guild will resume talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) on 17 and 18 February.

However, the talks are threatened by SAG’s inner strife which has seen Guild president Alan Rosenberg file a lawsuit against the national board’s recent firing of executive director Doug Allen and their elimination of the negotiating committee.
