As if the state of the US economy wasn’t bad enough, it is now to get the Michael Moore (Farenheit 9/11, Sicko) treatment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The outspoken award-winning documentary filmmaker has already made hugely controversial films about the Bush administration, America’s gun policy, as well as America’s health care system, and it wasn’t pretty.
The as yet untitled new film is backed by Paramount Vantage and Overture and will look at the US economy in terms of the global financial crisis. It will be interesting to see how the film plays out in America in the Barack Obama era, a more hopeful one than the Bush era.
